Our Fleet
Younger sister of the European Causeway, the European Highlander is a freight ferry to and from Northern Ireland that operates on our Cairnryan-Larne freight route shipping service. This freight ship was one of the first purpose built in Japan just for this route and has been running since 2002. With a headroom clearance of 5.20m, she can travel at speeds of up to 23 knots, which makes her one of the fastest ferries on the Irish Sea, carrying tourist and freight passengers.

The European Causeway, together with her sister European Highlander, is the fastest freight ferry on the Irish Sea with a speed of 23 knots. Our Larne to Cairnryan ferry, built in 2000, the vessel has the capacity to carry 107 x 13.5m freight units. Freight drivers have their own lounge and restaurant area, where they can relax and unwind on-board a freight ferry to Northern Ireland or Scotland..
